October 14, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - October 14, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

Body-Informed Leadership: Ongoing Co-Mentorship Group for Facilitators

This group is for facilitators who already have training and experience in Somatic modalities, who want to (or already do) engage their somatic practices to responsibly hold and transform trauma- and dominance-based dynamics in the groups they support. The sessions are held and facilitated by Madelanne, with input from and opportunities for co-mentorship with fellow participants. Group topics and areas of focus will evolve as the group progresses, in response to the dynamics and emergent priorities of the group. The group will form in October 2020 and will be closed until January 2021. At this point the group will open to new members. Existing participants may choose to finish or continue their participation at this time.

Each 5-session interval provides

  • A co-created curriculum to support your ongoing learning and personal reflection in Body-Informed Leadership practice;
  • 5 group meetings of 3 hours each to share successes and struggles in integrating Body-Informed into the groups and group cultures you facilitate;
  • 2 online reflection calls (1.5 hours) with Madelanne to explore and support your personal process (per 5-session segment)

Dates and Times

Group meetings are held every 3 weeks on Wednesdays from 5:00 – 8:00pm British time, beginning October 14, 2020.

After the October 2020 start date, the group will open for new membership on the following dates:

  • January 27, 2021
  • May 12, 2021
  • September 15, 2021

One-to-one reflection sessions are scheduled individually with Madelanne, after the first group session of each interval.

Themes and Content

Madelanne (as well as fellow group members) will suggest readings, reflection questions, and other supplemental materials in response to the unique skills, interests, and challenges of the group; so, in some ways the course content will be emergent. However, the group’s focus will be on the following theme areas (both at the personal level of the facilitators, and at the level of the group cultures they support):

  • The nervous system and trauma
  • Somatic Safety
  • The cultural somatics of Domination vs Partnership
  • Privilege, oppression and intersectionality
  • Inner tracking and unconditional presence
  • Attunement and inter-relationship

Each 5-session interval costs £475 ($593 USD or $804 CAD), which can be paid in one lump sum or in four monthly instalments of £118.75 ($148.35 USD/ $201 CAD).

A non-refundable deposit of £118.75 ($148.25 USD/ $201 CAD) which goes towards your tuition is required no later than October 1, 2020 to secure your place. The remaining balance is due on October 14th, or on the 1st of each month for November, December, and January.

*If the cost of the group is prohibitive, please contact me to discuss alternative arrangements.

I also ask that you send me some writing (no later than October 1, 2020) about: What is your Somatic background or training? What facilitation work do you do? What are your particular areas of curiosity, challenge and resource? What topics would you most want to unpack together in our group sessions? Any concerns about your participation, or anything you want me to know? All writing will be kept confidential. Please send writing to madelanne@icloud.com

This course welcomes people of all genders, identities, and ethnicities. All material will be held with an intersectional awareness and an active invitation for multiple perspectives to be expressed.

Because the course is experiential and embodied, and because it touches on potentially challenging subject matter, it could stir up uncomfortable emotions, sensations, and interactions. In the interests of holding the safest space I can for all participants, I may ask someone to end their participation in the course (with a refund for the remainder) if it seems the course is not appropriate for their particular needs, and/or if they repeatedly behave in ways that cause harm to the group.

Refunds will not be made for missed sessions. Under extreme circumstances, or in the case you need to discontinue your participation, we will find a mutually agreeable solution for reimbursement.
